Transcript:
Official transcripts are required from all undergraduate and graduate schools each student has attended. For reviewing purposes, electronic copies of transcripts from each college or university you have attended can be uploaded through the online application system to meet the application requirements. If you are offered admission to Rice, official copies of the transcripts will be required and can either be sent directly to the Rice Chemistry Department from the institution or sealed by the institution in a signed envelope and delivered by the applicant.
Personal Statement:
In the latter part of the online application we ask that you describe your intended plan of study (and any sub-division of that field) and describe additional factors that you would like to have the admissions committee consider in evaluating your application. This information may resemble a "personal statement" but the information is incorporated into two different questions on the online application form. No separate statement is required.
Recommendation Letter:
At least three letters of recommendation are required. Normally these letters are written by faculty who are familiar with your work and can address your potential for success in graduate school and beyond.
